Crop & Connect Workshops

Crop & Connect Annual Workshops

Bringing regional producers together to learn, connect and grow.

Regional Grower Services and VegNET Wide Bay takes Crop & Connect to AgroTrend, delivering a series of practical workshops designed to keep regional producers and their teams informed, connected and up to date with the latest industry insights.

The annual workshop program provides an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, explore new ideas and gain practical knowledge across a range of topics relevant to modern agribusiness.

But we want to make sure Crop & Connect continues to cover the topics that matter to you.

What would you like to learn about? What challenges are you facing in your business? Is there a topic, technology, compliance issue or industry development you would like us to explore?

Help us shape the next Crop & Connect workshop program. Your feedback and ideas will help us build future sessions around the information, skills and knowledge that can make a practical difference to regional producers and their teams.

Crop & Connect is also an opportunity to invest in your team’s professional development. Bringing different staff members along can help spread knowledge throughout your business, build capability and give team members the confidence to take on new responsibilities — supporting a stronger farming system.

Have a topic in mind? We’d love to hear from you.

Fall Armyworm Roadshow
The Fall Armyworm (FAW) Roadshow was recently delivered as part of the Crop & Connect series at Agrotrend 2026, providing growers with a practical and engaging session focused on improving FAW identification, monitoring and management.
QDPI scientists Melina Miles & John Stanley alongside workshop facilitator Ramesh Puri delivered sessions covering key areas including chemistries, resistance management, effective monitoring, pest identification, integrated pest management (IPM) and the role of beneficial insects in managing FAW.
The hands on component provided participants with the opportunity to examine examples of different life stages of common caterpillar pests, including FAW, as well as beneficial insects and examples of the damage they can cause in crops. This practical approach helped reinforce the importance of correctly identifying both the pest and the damage before making management decisions.

Feedback from participants was positive, with the session providing useful, practical information that growers can apply when monitoring and managing FAW in their crops. A range of supporting resources are also available for growers to explore some of the topics covered during the session and stay up to date with the latest research and development activities. Growers are encouraged to follow the Fall Armyworm eHub for ongoing information, resources and project updates.
