Award: $28 – $30 / hour Horticulture Award

About the Business:

The employer is a local family-run business that has become the largest producer of field-grown snacking tomatoes in Australia. We have transformed a small snacking tomato farm into a quality focussed grower with multiple farms and a state-of-the-art packing facility near Bundaberg servicing chain stores, local and interstate markets with premium quality fruit and produce!

We are a large team of passionate people, and we are looking for a value-driven individual to join our team.

The farm is situated in the Bundaberg region, approximately 10km from Bundaberg CBD

About the Role

As the Tractor operator / Field hand, you will be responsible for operating tractors, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
We are looking for highly motivated and flexible employee willing to work as a team supporting the field’s general duties.
You will work with our team to ensure our business goals are met.

You will report to the Farm Manager and Directors. 
Key Duties may include but not limited to
  • Operating tractors.
  • Fertilise, remove weeds, apply pesticides, and report the conditions of crops.
  • Harvest, inspect, sort, and load crops for shipment.
  • Irrigate fields and maintain sources of water and equipment, such as pumps and pipes.
  • Make minor repairs and maintain farm equipment, enclosures, and fences.
  • Prepare soil for planting.
  • Follow food safety procedures.
Candidate selection
  • Valid drivers licence and reliable transport – required
  • Comfortable working with diverse groups
  • Experience operating tractors – required
  • Previous experience in the same or similar role
  • You will have strong communication skills – required
  • Physically fit and prepared to work in a range of weather conditions
  • Willing to work flexible hours
