Bree Watson joined Bundaberg Fruit & Vegetable Growers (BFVG) in 2010, initially leading research and development programs before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2016. With fifteen years experience in the not-for-profit sector, Bree brings extensive industry knowledge and well-established networks to the organisation.
Raised in Bundaberg on a farming property, Bree has a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing primary producers. Her leadership is grounded in BFVG’s core values—passion, leadership, accountability, transparency, and respect—and she is proud to work alongside a dedicated team of Directors and staff.
Bree holds a Master of Business Administration (Corporate Finance), Bachelor of Science (Honours), a Bachelor of Environmental Science, and a Bachelor of Photography, reflecting her strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence. Her expertise spans project management, business development, finance and operations, corporate governance, and strategic industry engagement. She is particularly passionate about improving productivity and profitability across the entire horticulture supply chain and values direct engagement with growers to ensure advocacy efforts reflect real industry priorities.
Bree is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves on a range of committees and Boards including the Queensland Horticulture Council, BAFFA, the Working Tourist Safety Committee, SunWater Irrigator Advisory Committee, Paradise Dam Reference Group, Bundaberg Area Fire Management Group, the Coastal Burnett Groundwater Management Advisory Committee, Multicultural Advisory Committee and the Domestic and Family Violence Free Committee. She maintains active engagement with local councils and all levels of government to advance issues critical to agribusiness in the region.
