The BFVG AgTech project is funded by Central QLD University with the core objectives to facilitate testing of commercially available ‘AgTech’ products and services on farms in the Hinkler electorate, and provide related information and resources to support adoption within the Industry. To achieve this, BFVG is keen to hear from growers to ensure critical Industry needs are identified, any barriers to adoption are understood, and that technologies are tested in commercial situations for ‘real-world application’.
So what is ‘AgTech’? There are many definitions and applications for AgTech, but it is in essence using digital technologies to help agricultural producers make faster and/or better informed decisions.
Digital technologies can provide agricultural businesses with tools and knowledge for supporting business decisions throughout their supply chain, improve productivity and sustainability, increase efficiencies, monitor and improve product integrity, or even help to meet some regulatory requirements.
