TOP CITRUS PTY LTD is a family run citrus operation, with a focus on producing a variety of quality citrus for domestic & export markets. Based 25kms out of Gayndah, comprising 3 orchards exceeding 70 000 trees.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position is for an experienced truck driver who would also be content to work in other areas of the operation. Given the nature of harvest it is tricky to maintain a part time dedicated truck driving position so we are on the search for someone who would be happy to pitch in anywhere to create a fulltime position. During the harvest season (March – August) truck/forklift duties will be most of your daily work, outside of the season daily jobs are varied and can cover most aspects of general orchard activities.

During the harvest season truck duties will be priority with 3 orchards supplying fruit to the packing shed nearby. All locations are within 8km.

The truck driving side will involve the following:

  • Truck driving – carting harvested fruit from orchards to packing shed and returning empty bins to orchards
  • Forklift use (current High Risk Work license or willingness to undertake training course essential)
  • Keeping records essential to maintain traceability of harvested produce in the supply chain

The orchard hand side includes:

  • General orchard maintenance (Tree maintenance, planting, thinning, pruning, irrigation)
  • EWP/Cherry Picker use
  • Tractor operations
  • Chainsaw use
  • Other farm duties as needed

You will have a good attitude and a willingness to follow protocols to maintain traceability within a supply chain, be efficient, be flexible within reason (this is a position where weather can and will affect work, particularly fruit harvest). We operate with good quality plant and equipment and expect it to be well maintained, clean & respected.

To be considered for this position you will require;

  • Confidence operating a truck and forklift
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Basic Computer/iPad literacy
  • Problem solving ability a must
  • Reliable transport to/from work
  • HR License (18 Speed Range Rover experience ESSENTIAL)
  • Be organised and efficient
  • Chainsaw ticket/Chemcert accreditation advantageous
