Woolworths 2010 Agricultural Business Scholarship

 

Together with the University of Western Sydney and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW,
Woolworths is offering 30 young Australians the opportunity to attend the 2010 Woolworths
Agricultural Business Scholarship program. The course is practical as well as theoretical, providing you with the chance to apply best practice ideas to your own real life experiences. You’ll learn from some of the country’s leading experts in business management and gain a deeper understanding of how the retail business actually works.
During the 12-day course, you’ll gain a broad academic perspective on the business of agriculture from University of Western Sydney lecturers, Woolworths’ business leaders and other industry experts.
Eligibility criteria
You are eligible to apply if you are:
• aged between 20-30 years old (as at 1 January 2010)
• currently employed in the agricultural or horticultural industry or in your second or further year of  study in an agricultural or horticultural faculty at a registered tertiary institution
• available to attend the entire course from Sunday 5th to Friday 17th September 2010 in Sydney

 TQA Australia Global Insights Award 2010

 

 TQA Australia is pleased to announce the launch of the 2010  TQA Australia Global Insights Award. Now in its second year, the Award provides a travel scholarship of up to $10,000 to an Australian primary producer committed to food safety, quality assurance and/or environmental assurance in their business and farming operations.
The travel scholarship is for overseas travel to visit existing or potential markets, meet with retailers and supply chain partners, or visit overseas producers and researchers.
The award is open to all Australian primary producers with a current  certification to a third-party audited food safety, quality assurance and/or environmental assurance scheme.

 Coaching and Mentoring in Rural Australia

 

 Rural Development Services and Ag Consulting Co invite you to participate in an exciting project: ‘Coaching and Mentoring in Rural Australia’.  
The project’s program will enable young women engaged in primary industries to develop their coaching, mentoring, leadership, communication and decision making skills, which can be utilised within primary industries, rural communities and their businesses.
The program will include:
• Participation in a two day coaching workshop in Brisbane on Thursday/Friday 19 and 20 August 2010.
• Networking dinner on Thursday evening 19 August 2010.
• Coaching/mentoring sessions; one-on-one and/or group sessions September to December 2010.
• Online or teleconference discussion groups September to December 2010.
• Participation in follow up one day workshop in Brisbane, Friday December 10 2010.


COST
Course fees and training materials will be covered by the project.  Participants will cover their own airfare, travel, accommodation and non-workshop meal expenses.
